• Medical Expense Credit - This is for income tax purposes and is used as a deduction at the time that the Income Tax forms are filled out. There are various items that can be used under the "Medical Expense Credit" as eligible expenses. Some of the items/services include (but not limited to): air conditioners, catheters, cochlear implants, diapers/disposable briefs, eyeglasses, gluten free foods, hearing aids, heart monitors, needles and syringes, and rehabilitative therapy. A family should be taling to an accountant or call the Income Tax Information Line @ 1.800.267.6999 for further information. The government of Canada website is www.gc.ca.
