What is LEAD Foundation?
LEAD Foundation is a government funded non-profit organization working with children with a variety of developmental disabilities, specializing in Autism. We offer both the Specialized Services program, working within your home and out in the community, funded by FSCD and Program Unit Funding (PUF) through Alberta Learning, working within your child’s community preschool.
LEAD Foundation believes parents have an integral role in the success of their child.
LEAD Foundation strives to provide a developmentally appropriate, activity- based, family-focused program to support children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
What does LEAD provide?
In the case of SS, LEAD Foundation:
- hires, trains and evaluates, with parental support, each child’s Child Development Specialist(s)
- coordinates and oversees team meetings
- creates with team members, including parents, an individual program plan (IPP), which is updated at least three times during the school year
- provides children with therapists motivated to helping children succeed
- provides one-on-one contact with a team leader throughout the year
- provides support and strategies for home life and community integration
- Professional Development(PD) for Child Development Specialists, therapists and parents is provided (Child Development Specialists are invited to monthly PD at the LEAD office)
- Your professional team may include
